Aubrey Organics since 1967

I love Aubrey Organics products and I especially love that they are made in the USA!

For 42 years, Aubrey Organics has been making organic personal care products, such as shampoos, moisturizers, deodorants, lotions and make up.

Today Aubrey offers more than 200 products that are sold in more than 4500 retailers throughout the world. The company philosophy is: “Why use something synthetic when something natural works so much better?”

What a great concept! (Too bad all companies can't adopt that healthy attitude.)

Read Aubrey product labels and you’ll find ingredients made from natural plant extracts, and no synthetic additives or petrochemicals. And, you will find that all Aubrey Organics products are made in a factory in Tampa, Florida, that is “regularly inspected and certified as a manufacturing facility where organic ingredients are handled according to standards set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program.”

On its website, the company states: “We buy only the purest natural and organic ingredients from fair trade sources, and use them in handcrafted, all-natural products that are good for you and good for the Earth.”

And good for America, I might add.

Make Sure Your American Flag is Made In America

Celebrate the 4th of July by buying American!

As we get ready to celebrate U.S. Independence Day on July 4, I thought it would be an appropriate time to remind everyone how important it is to buy American-made flags.

When you wave the American flag this year make sure that flag is Made in the U.S.A. Though buying any products not made here when you have a choice is never good, buying a flag made in another country is like a slap in the face to our forefathers and mothers, especially Betsy Ross who so painstakingly and lovingly crafted the symbol of our freedom.

Companies that make flags in the U.S. are:

A Closer Look at Your Toothpaste

Throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here in the U.S.A.

The secret to finding American-made products is to diligently look at labels and deliberately shop for them.

Take an everyday item like toothpaste, for example. Colgate is now made in Mexico. Crest says their toothpaste is “mostly made” in Greensboro, North Carolina, which probably means some of it isn’t. (They suspiciously do not list Made in the USA on their products.)

An American-made toothpaste that is pretty easy to find in most drug stores or grocery stores these days is Tom’s of Maine, which is actually made in Sanford, Maine. The company also doesn’t use artificial or animal-based ingredients and you can get it without fluoride, which is a nice bonus.

You can also find other brands in health food stores, such as Xyliwhite from Now Foods, which is made from xylitol, a natural substance found in fruits, berries and other natural sources that has been used for hundreds of years. Though Now Foods doesn’t make all its products in American, it actually lists Made in the USA on the Xyliwhite tube. Learn more about this product at http://www.nowfoods.com/Products/M042843.htm

So my challenge to everyone is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday items and see what you can find that is made in the U.S.A. The job you save may be yours, your neighbor’s or a family member’s.

If you accept the challenge, pass along this information so we can all start building back America manufacturing, one tube of toothpaste at a time.
